Bessie Wright Manus, age 90 of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026. Bessie was born on August 28th, 1935, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Rathell Wright and Lizzie Wright.
Bessie spent her final years in DeSoto, Texas. She had a life journey filled with love, laughter, and profound compassion. She lived her life with an incredible spirit, and although she is no longer with us physically, her charismatic personality and dependable nature will forever resonate in our hearts.
Bessie received her education from Sulphur Springs School District, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She accepted Christ as her savior, at an early age, at Denley Drive Missionary Baptist Church. Bessie was united in holy matrimony with J.C. Pruitt. Their union was blessed with one child. Later in life, she was united in holy matrimony with Willard Manus.
Bessie was a woman of resilience and dedication. Her legacy is not just in her deeds but also in the lives she enhanced and the hearts she warmed.
Bessie Wright Manus departed this life on May 25, 2026. She is preceded in death by: her parents Rathell Wright and Lizzie Wright, sister Thelma Wright Gibson, and her husbands J.C. Pruitt and Willard Manus.
Bessie leaves to cherish her memory: her son Roy (Rhonda) Pruitt ; brothers: Ronald Wright, Donald Wright, Rathell Jr. Wright, and Don Berkins; sister: Glenda Kay Alfred; Grandchildren: Robin Pruitt, Jason Pruitt, Ryan Pruitt; step -grandchildren: Jerrian Weddington, Ellese Barnes, Matthew Lucht, Ryan Selmon. Three great granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, along with a special bonus family - The Morse family.
Her legacy lives on not only through his family but also through the countless lives she touched and changed for the better.
