Deacon Charles Edward Lonon
A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many, transitioned into eternal peace on Thursday, June 25, 2026
Deacon Charles was born January 20, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He was greeted at the gates of heaven by his mother Cammelia Lonon-Hayes and Father Robert Hayes and grandson Davon Gross.
Deacon Charles accepted Lord Jesus as his personal Savior at a young age. He was a man whose life was defined by laughter, strength and resilience and an unwavering ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
He moved to Dallas, Texas in 2005 where he met and married his wife, Donna Harley, February 5, 2009.
Deacon Charles and Donna begin their walk together in Christ at The Living World Church, where he became a Deacon. (a dedicated Deacon, who knew his God.)
Deacon Charles devoted most of his professional life to truck driving. A truck driver at heart, driving highways and byways. Outside of his work, his favorite hobby was fishing. If the fish wasn’t biting, he enjoyed sitting around the lake laughing and talking to his fishing buddies. Those memories serve as cherished reminders of his thoughtful spirit and love for simple meaningful experiences.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Deacon Charles Edward Lonon, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife Donna Harley-Lonon; Daughters, Shontel Lonon- Burton, Kammelia Nelson, Dabriella Robertson, Sons Charles Lonon and Dwayne Gross: Grandchildren Joshua Burton Demani Wooten, Aliyah Gross, Dorian Gross, Derrin Gross, David Gross, and Nekeem Travis, Chance Gaspard, Christy and Christa Prebble and many cousins and friends.
His life and love will continue to echo in our hearts. His love will continue through the generations that follow.
His legacy lives on not only through his family but also through the countless lives he touched and changed for the better. We invite you to celebrate Deacon Charles’s life by sharing your memories and photos on his memorial page. It is in these personal tributes that comfort can be found, and his spirit will continue to live on.
