Grace Smith Roddy was born on July 31, 1950, in Hill County, Texas, to Clemen Smith and Cora Lee Smith.

Grace spent her final years in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on March 21, 2026. She had a life journey filled with love, laughter, and profound compassion. She lived her life with an incredible spirit, and although she is no longer with us physically, her charismatic personality and dependable nature will forever resonate in our hearts.

Grace received her education from Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas. Grace accepted Christ as her savior, at the age of 15, at Pearly Gate Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member. Grace was united in holy matrimony with Willie Roddy. Their union was blessed with one child.

Grace was a woman of resilience and dedication. Grace dedicated her life as a Medical Assistant, providing comfort, care, and companionship at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center, where she worked for 15 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed listening to music, traveling, and bingo. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her legacy is not just in her deeds but also in the lives she enhanced and the hearts she warmed.

Grace leaves to cherish her memory: Beverly Smith (sister), Dorsalean Allen (sister), Latadra Smith (granddaughter), Brandon Smith (grandson), Jar’Briel Smith (granddaughter), Carlancia Morgan (granddaughter), and host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
